Alberta School Library Council Awards
The ASLC sponsors two provincial awards of merit for Teacher-Librarians in Alberta.
Nominations for both awards for 2011 are due by March 30, 2011.
Members of the ASLC are encouraged to nominate a teacher-librarian for either the Laurence G. Wiedrick Award of Excellence or the Award of Merit For more information about these awards,and a copy of the nomination form, please consult the ASLC website.
Congratulations to Elaine Atwood, retired professional librarian at the ATA Library, who was awarded the Laurence G. Wiedrick Award of Excellence and Shaunda Yeoman, principal of Thorncliffe School, recipient of the Award of Merit.
Alberta School Libraries Council Bursary
The ASLC is pleased to invite Alberta residents who are furthering their training in the area of school libraries to apply for the ASLC Bursary. The bursary, which will be awarded once a year, is valued at up to $2000.
